Ups...

5. Miz, Cena Heat Up

It’s funny to think that the opening bout of Raw on Monday was also the main event of WrestleMania XXVII.

It’s also funny to realize that their match on Monday was probably better and carried more drama and fan interest than that Mania world title match, despite the only thing being on the line Monday was the loser starting the Elimination Chamber match in two weeks.

Miz and Cena actually matched up pretty well, with the A-Lister’s offense keeping Cena down for most of the bout, and the two countering each other quite a bit. The end roped fans in, with both men kicking out of each other’s finisher and surviving the other man’s submission hold. Cena triumphed with a Super AA, which at least did the Miz justice in losing – a couple years ago, he would have fallen in half the time to a simple AA.

And having Miz start the match isn’t really much of a penalty – it’s not like the Intercontinental Champion is walking out of the Elimination Chamber with a Universal Championship title match.
