When WWE decided this summer to take three directionless wrestlers and have them form a stable, fans were largely supportive of the effort. Its been a tried and true practice to take guys who are otherwise available and group them together to have something to do. In the case of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods, they were going nowhere when Woods suggested in July that they stop playing nice and take what they want. After a couple appearances, they quietly disbanded on TV though they continued to partner at live shows and even named their group Speed Force. But the last two weeks, weve seen vignettes air with Woods and now Kingston dancing with a gospel choir as they talk about a new day coming. The ads run completely counter to what Woods who is channeling James Brown in his video was preaching back in July. If this is WWE completely turning its back on that angle and turning them into smiling, dancing babyfaces, then this is a HUGE letdown. But if the vignettes are setting the table for the trio to rebel against this image and play a more serious role as originally suggested, then this becomes a positive development.
