It’s scary to think that it’s been a full year since Nia Jax last competed in WWE, but there she was Monday night, squashing Deonna Purrazzo in short order.

Jax returned from double ACL surgery on Raw, the same night that Bianca Belair announced that she was now officially moving up/over from NXT. Throw in the fact that Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler have been making appearances on the red brand competing against superstars there and you have a buoyed women’s division suddenly.

The return of Jax will be divisive for some, as she’s never really managed to have staying power or seemingly be utilized properly. She’s basically a couple steps above Tamina in that she’s touted as an unstoppable powerhouse… except that she manages to lose quite a bit.

But hopefully this means we’ll see better focus on the division as a whole rather than just a handful of wrestlers. More depth certainly can’t hurt.
