A tag match where a wrestler who wasn’t involved in the match scored the pinfall. A supposed world-beater upset that a competitor took advantage of an injury. Another authority figure. A wrestler jobbing to tacos.

If those are your ideas of a great episode of Raw, then Monday night was made for you. If not, then Raw wasn’t terrible by any stretch, but there were some really dumb moments to wade through. Sure, we got a couple good matches, and there were some pretty good moments, but overall, this was largely a skippable week.

Two of WWE’s newer stars, Ronda Rousey and Bobby Lashley, looked foolish in separate segments where that clearly wasn’t the intention. They just weren’t given good material that played to their strengths, leaving them to flounder on live TV.

We did see Braun Strowman perform another feat of strength, and Finn Balor actually put smiles on faces. Elias and Seth Rollins continued to build their feud over the Intercontinental Championship, and Roman Reigns and Jinder Mahal had a no-nonsense confrontation, with a war of words quickly escalating.

Money in the Bank isn’t going to be a blow-away show, and Monday’s program didn’t really build too much anticipation. It also didn’t diminish the build, so there’s that.
