Let’s put aside the conclusion of the match, and let’s just look at the history aspect of the Charlotte/Sasha Banks bout.

The women put on the first female Hell in a Cell match. It also was the first WWE PPV to be main-evented by the women, which is a huge accomplishment. The women made the bout feel like a big deal, and they certainly didn’t rest on their laurels. They could have just enjoyed the fact they were in the main event inside a cell and had an average match. But they pulled out all the stops and tried to win over the fans.

They did have a pretty good match, and fans were plenty into it. But alas, WWE seems to love shooting itself in the foot. Still, at least the ceiling was broken Sunday.
