5 Ways Brock Lesnar Can Go Bell To Bell WWE Royal Rumble 2020

Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman, and my client needs his nap.

The reigning, defending, yadda-yadda WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar has announced that in 2020, which I still assume is fifteen years in the future, he will be entering the Royal Rumble at the number one spot. This opens the door to a load of dream matches, and tests the chemistry of those match-ups. It also raises the question: how on earth will Brock Lesnar, a man who is known for the brevity of his matches, go the distance in a match that usually lasts over an hour?

In 2019, the Destroyer had a total of eight matches, and his regular entrance lasted longer than three of those. While the Money In The Bank match lasted just over nineteen minutes from bell to bell, Lesnar only entered at the end of the match and exactly 60 seconds passed from his music hitting to him taking the case. His cash-in against Rollins lasted only a few seconds, as did him taking his current title from Kofi in a criminally underbooked match.

While there were longer matches in the year (versus Bálor at the 2019 Rumble, and the Rollins match at SummerSlam being particular highlights) I think it would be safe to say that all of Lesnar's matches in 2019 put together do not run the length of a typical Rumble match.

So, with Lesnar usually looking red-faced and ready to pass out after five minutes in most matches, here are five ways he can go the distance in the Rumble.

5. Jock Lesnar

Early on in the match, Brock will find some excuse to go under the ring. Maybe he spots Hornswoggle under there waiting for Zelina Vega, or perhaps he eliminates Titus O'Neil and inherits his curse, falling flat on his face and being seemingly dragged under by an invisible version of The Fiend or some other monster that lives there. Whatever happens, Brock will completely disappear under the ring, but only for a second or two.

When he emerges, he will be a noticeably thinner man that barely passes for Lesnar. Much like Dave Hebner and Kurt Angle before him, Brock will be handing the reins of his match over to his secret Scottish twin, Jock Lesnar. This would likely be someone like Drake Maverick, with a paper mask of Brock's face stapled to his own like Deadpool did with Hugh Jackman's, but we all know R-Truth was born to play this role.

Whoever comes out as Jock, the commentators will not acknowledge the difference at all and will continue to react as if this was still the real Brock Lesnar. It's only later, when the fake Lesnar is eliminated that the real one will emerge from under the ring, fresh from his nap, and ready to destroy anything that remains.
