While a number of fighters were bashing the Punk signing by the UFC, one openly welcomed him: Roy Nelson. Now, Nelson comes off as a pretty laid back guy, but he has never been shy about sharing his opinions. Maybe it's because he, along with some other Syndicate MMA guys (Syndicate MMA is a camp based out of Las Vegas, where Nelson resides) have been training with Punk. If this seems odd - the portly heavyweight known for knock-out power training with the much smaller Punk - it shouldn't. Nelson can probably give him a few boxing pointers, but Nelson's base is actually in Jiu-jitsu, though he hasn't really used it all that much in the octagon.
