22. Cesaro€™s Year

What do you do with a guy who suffers through terrible booking for a few years, then finally starts to get popular on his own? Why you take away his move that€™s most over with the crowd (the Cesaro Swing), don€™t let him win any substantial singles matches after his biggest accomplishment of the year (winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal), pair him with Paul Heyman (even though the fans wanted him to turn face), then take Heyman away before giving it much of a chance without any explanation. That was the year of Cesaro, and it was not a good one. To top it off, his own boss openly talked about why he wasn€™t over and seemed to have no answers. He even wondered if it was because he was Swiss! By year€™s end, any excitement over him winning the Battle Royal was largely forgotten, as he closed out 2014 stuck in a tag team with Tyson Kidd for absolutely no reason. Better luck in 2015!
