When Daniel Bryan won the WWE World title at WrestleMania 30, TNA decided to copy the much more popular company. No, they didnt copy them by spending months developing an under-appreciated talent and putting them over some former top stars at their biggest show of the year. Instead, they copied them by making their champion a guy who vaguely looked like Daniel Bryan. Eric Young is not Daniel Bryan in any measurable way. He was booked as a goofy mid-carder for years, and then out of nowhere was made their top guy. Fans didnt buy it. The audience didnt tune in, and TNA had to abandon the idea in short time. Obvious knock-offs dont work, which pretty sums up why the company has never been a success.
