14. Eric Young Becomes TNA Heavyweight Champion

When Daniel Bryan won the WWE World title at WrestleMania 30, TNA decided to copy the much more popular company. No, they didn€™t copy them by spending months developing an under-appreciated talent and putting them over some former top stars at their biggest show of the year. Instead, they copied them by making their champion a guy who vaguely looked like Daniel Bryan. Eric Young is not Daniel Bryan in any measurable way. He was booked as a goofy mid-carder for years, and then out of nowhere was made their top guy. Fans didn€™t buy it. The audience didn€™t tune in, and TNA had to abandon the idea in short time. Obvious knock-offs don€™t work, which pretty sums up why the company has never been a success.
