6 Bobby Roode Feuds WWE Should Book On Main Roster

These feuds would be... GLORIOUS!

Bobby Roode is the latest major addition to the WWE main roster after making his debut on SmackDown Live last week.

‘The Glorious One’ made his bow on the blue brand by knocking off Aiden English, three days after dropping his NXT Championship to Drew McIntyre at Takeover: Brooklyn III.

He won’t be competing at English’s level for long. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Roode is poised to be pushed as one of the top five guys on Tuesday nights after impressive character development on NXT.

But it is difficult to trust the main roster writers to manage Roode as well as those at NXT did, considering how NXT favourites Tye Dillinger and, to an extent, Shinsuke Nakamura have been booked so far on SmackDown. Dillinger is barely on TV and Nakamura just lost to Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. Jinder Mahal. You can understand the uncertainty.

So how do they manage to ensure that Roode is not another who fails in transitioning from NXT to the main roster? Pairing him with these six superstars would be a start...

6. Shinsuke Nakamura

This is a rivalry that we have seen recently in NXT, but it is deserving of a bigger stage.

The atmosphere in the Freeman Coliseum at TakeOver: San Antonio in January was absolutely electric. All 9,465 fans in attendance were on their feet singing along to the two best crowd-pumping entrances in WWE. It created a big-fight feel and the match, albeit with an injury angle finish, largely delivered as Roode beat Nakamura for the NXT title.

Imagine that scene unfolding in front of 75,000 people at WrestleMania, because this is a match worthy of a big-four pay-per-view. It would undoubtedly be a WrestleMania moment.

Roode successfully defended in their rematch on 'Mania weekend this year, inflicting upon 'The King of Strong Style’ his only clean loss in NXT and giving Nakamura an immediate incentive to go after the Canadian now that he is on the main roster.

The retribution aspect of any second feud between the two NXT alumni is likely to see Nakamura even the score, but a loss would not be too damaging to Roode if he is sharing the stage with one of the most popular and credible stars on SmackDown.
