6 Top Matches LEAKED For WWE SummerSlam 2023
Here's what WWE has lined up for its 5 August premium live event.
WWE's next premium live event, SummerSlam 2023, takes place in Detroit, Michigan's Ford Field on Saturday, 5 August - and the promotion already has a slew of top matches lined up.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE currently plans on having the following on the marquee for SummerSlam 2023:-
- WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
- Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
- Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch
- WWE Women's Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair
- WWE Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
- Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
Though a number of these bouts stem from longer-term storylines, several of them took big leaps forward at Money in the Bank 2023 this past Saturday (1 July). Most notably, Reigns vs. Uso was effectively set in the night's main event, with Jey pinning Roman (who hadn't fallen in well over 1,000 days) as he and brother Jey defeated 'The Tribal Chief' and Solo Sikoa in the Bloodline Civil War.
Elsewhere at MITB, McIntyre returned for the first time in 3 months, confronting Gunther after a win over Matt Riddle.
Shayna Baszler turned on Ronda Rousey at the show, setting up what could be Rousey's last major match in WWE, with Ronda set to exercise a "hard out" on her contract.
