3. Zak Knight...Doesn't Want To Fight?
This was a head-scratching decision.
Zak Knight was all set to take his in-ring bow for AEW when he suddenly decided he...didn't want to. Right, fair enough. So, All Elite booked a beatdown skit that saw Zak hammer Angelo Parker and force officials to call the match off, right? No, wait - that didn't happen. They literally had Knight cut a promo and knock back the chance to fight.
Sorry, but Tony Khan had a shocker here. Everything about Zak's fairly tame promo flies in the face of his presentation since debuting. He's supposed to be a hyper-charged psychopath who speaks with his fists, and he's been tasked with taking down Parker for his sister Saraya. On that, why not have her call the bout off instead?!
The only thing that AEW achieved here was turning Zak into every other cowardly heel going, which was a huge mistake. He shouldn't be the kind of character who spurns the chance to punch heads in, simple as that. This was so unnecessary.
