It sucks to see Mike Sydal pick up an injury prior to his and brother Matt's planned tag bout with Lio Rush and Dante Martin, which would have put a new spin on an established dynamic. Here's hoping that whatever ails him isn't too serious and that he makes a swift recovery.
The replacement is, unfortunately, a minor bummer. We've already seen Matt vs. Martin twice in AEW. Both were solid, and this one likely will be as well, but while it's hard to criticise a promotion for having to adjust under these circumstances, Lio vs. Matt would have been the fresher option here.
It would have given Rush the opportunity to "set an example" in his new role, particularly as Dante lost his first two encounters with Sydal. Alas, that wasn't the chosen option.
