6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (8 May - Results & Review)

6. Jay White Vs Rocky Romero
Former CHAOS stablemates Jay White and Rocky Romero collided in a match that was absolutely a match, and ignoring the plot hole explored elsewhere, it was competently worked to make the best of White's expert cut-offs and kickouts. The announcers were at pains to promote Romero as almost planning his strategy to perfection before he was beaten, but not long enough to focus on much else before it was on to the inevitable afters.
In this case, it was the building of a potential Bullet Club Gold/Death Triangle trios match. White had mocked PAC for being unable to beat Kazuchika Okada, boasting about his ability to do just that in a past life. The 'Bastard' responded by running 'Switchblade' and The Gunns off when they celebrated White's win here.
The Okada link between the two is a cute detail that speaks to some decent longterm planning, and there are worse trios to try and get the division back on track with than the PAC/Rey Fenix/Penta unit. The story wasn't exactly fizzing here, but there's time for that before a potential Double Or Nothing showdown.
