6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 29 - Results & Review)
Ups...
6. Swerve Strickland Vs Killswitch
A cute fusion of corporate synergy and tying up a last remaining storyline loose end, the AEW World Champion's latest television match was better-than-solid stuff, even if it was designed to pass without conversation following the reveal of his impending Forbidden Door challenger.
Swerve gave the former Luchasaurus a frankly incredible near fall, when The Patriarchy's monster kicked out of a House Call and Swerve Stomp. A second go-around of the latter finished the job, and then Strickland finished his feud with the whole group by chopping off a braid of Killswitch's hair in a last act of revenge.
Unspectacular at points, this was another foundation laid for Swerve as the company's top dog. He'll only become even more captivating as he moves into his next major programme too.
