This was the biggest episode of Rampage in a long time.

In fact, it might even be the most special one since CM Punk debuted, and that feels like a lifetime ago now! The second show has been sprinkled with great matches and moments ever since, but it's clearly become a bit of an afterthought in Tony Khan's brain throughout 2022.

Not this week. For the 'Grand Slam' edition, All Elite kept a fun surprise very quiet (New York popped big for this one) and established a new number one contender for the AEW World Title. Interestingly, both Jim Ross and Excalibur then questioned whether the 'Grand Slam Battle Royale' winner would face current champ Jon Moxley or MJF.

Watch this space, huh?

AEW crammed Rampage with eight matches. There wasn't much room for mic time, but Christian Cage did do a little talking following one of the best bouts on the card. Was everything perfect? Hell no. Should Rampage squeeze this sort of night into a one-hour format and ditch the filler? Absolutely.
