6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (1 May - Results & Review)
2. Jacy Jayne Shines Yet Again
Listen, beating Charlotte Flair in any singles bout is no joke. Several women more established than Jacy Jayne would’ve screamed for this in the past. Also, fair play to Charlotte for giving Jayne a lot out there, and for doing the J.O.B to help a new main roster act bed in. You listening, Cody?! Right, that was a joke. Ricky Saints shouldn't have been beating Rhodes.
Last week’s screwy finish vs. Rhea Ripley made perfect sense, and now Fatal Influence can beat Flair, Alexa Bliss and Rhea in a 6-woman tag to properly hammer home how big of a threat they are. Jacy is getting an impressive amount of heel heat from fans already too. They despise her. That's back to back weeks of boos raining in, so Jayne will be happy about that.
What a solid match. It was hardly a ‘Match Of The Year’ contender, but not every bout needs to be. There was a nice bit of work for Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid at the end too, then Ripley’s run-in got a monster pop. Everything worked a treat, and Rhea will be glad to be the hell away from whatever her feud opposite Jade Cargill, Michin and B-FAB was supposed to be.
That trio was notably absent from SmackDown, for the record.
They couldn't hold a candle to the kinds of reactions Fatal Influence are already getting, to be honest. Then, when it mattered inside the ring, Jacy looked like a neat match for Charlotte and got the big 'W'. You've got to love it.
