6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 5)
Edge and Roman Reigns' had their first face-to-face on the latest WWE SmackDown.
The hype has started.
After winning the Royal Rumble last Sunday, Edge appeared on Raw to confront Drew McIntyre. WWE then installed Sheamus as the WWE Champ's next opponent. On Wednesday, the Canadian showed up on NXT, but Pete Dunne will meet Finn Bálor at TakeOver: Vengeance Day (there's also no way Edge is going after the NXT Title at 'Mania - sorry).
Finally, the 'Rated-R Superstar' brought his mini-tour to SmackDown this week and had a tense face-to-face with Roman Reigns. Ding, ding and indeed ding. We have a winner! Edge will meet Reigns for the Universal Title in Tampa, but not before WWE tie up some loose ends for the 'Tribal Chief' first.
This was a solid night for the blue brand. The title scenes for that Universal belt, the Women's one held by Sasha Banks and Big E's Intercontinental strap were all highlighted. Plus, WWE may have just teased the living sh*t out of everyone by hinting at a union between two pure wrestling machines.
Then, there were the 'Downs'. As always, those will kick off this review of all things Friday night...
