3. Corporate Kane
Even for his most forgiving fans, Corporate Kane was the death knell for what little remained of the former 'Big Red Machine's' shattered credibility. WWE turned a performer who was once a game-changing monster into a Dockers-clad authority stooge. Unmasked once more, he pledged his allegiance to Stephanie McMahon, ditched the hellfire and brimstone, and became WWE's on-screen Director of Operations, leading to all manner of tedium throughout 2014 and 2015.
No more than a goon, Corporate Kane was bad, but never quite hit Katie Vick levels of awfulness. Still, it yielded plenty of dogsh*t. In November 2014, the big man was relegated to concessions work, squirting mustard on Santino Marella, then engaging in a goofy food fight with Ryback. The sight of him and Big Show joylessly, effortlessly throwing a stream of internet favourites from the 2015 Royal Rumble remains one of that dreadful bout's defining images. The list goes on.
Even in his late '40s, well beyond his sell-by date, nobody wanted to see Kane become Stephanie's subservient. That's exactly what he was. Routinely undermined by higher-ranking authority figures, he was transformed into a worthless goober fit for little more than carrying the McMahons' baggage.
