1. Day One Ish

Renee Young's early days as a sports broadcaster in Canada were thrown up on screen as a light way to end the show and a feature that also included Drew McIntyre looking like a siamese cat in his original WWE run.

WWE steers away from being self-effacing because McMahons have a history of being rather dreadful at it. This sort of tone, driven by either Fox or company bods far removed from the top table, is typical for Backstage, just as it was Talking Smack and other vehicles not truly appreciated in their own time.

It's okay and actively quite good to take the p*ss once in a while. The difference between this and renaming a former Olympian "Shorty" is stark.
