6. Reed’s Train Derailed
Bronson Reed has been on a roll lately, but that doesn’t mean it’s all smooth sailing from him.
Reed went to war with Ricochet Monday night, with the One and Only unloading on him with a flurry of kicks, strikes and other offense before Shinsuke Nakamura got revenge on Bronson for last week’s attack. The DQ finish was a downer, but seeing Ricochet and Nakamura figure out that they could thwart Reed together was enough to balance it out.
Bronson continued to look like a borderline unstoppable beast, while the two smaller babyfaces looked valiant and desperate – but not pathetic. Even the tension afterward between Ricochet and Shinsuke was a nice touch, with both men wanting to put Reed down, but not willing to step aside for the other.
Reed as a result looked like more of a monster without overtly weakening the babyfaces. The good guys spinning off from this into a “respect” feud at least will feel earned rather than just something to occupy time before Money in the Bank.
