6. Foreshadowing?
Count this as the slimmest of “ups” based solely on speculation, best guesses and wishful thinking.
It’s no secret that this column (and a great number of fans) abhor the name “Doudrop,” and believe that it is going to hold back a very talented performer. When we learned that WWE was applying to trademark “Piper Niven,” it gave hope that the company has come to its senses and is going to right a big wrong.
Monday night, Becky Lynch let loose some comments that might have hinted at that change. During her in-ring promo to open Raw, Lynch said she wanted to “shoot” on “Doo-doo,” saying that “a Doudrop is never going to be champion” as long as Big Time Becks is running the division.
Could that mean that Doudrop will finally abandon a name her one-time mentor Eva Marie gave her? If so, this would be welcome news.
