Baron Corbin couldn't be entirely blamed for the decidedly dull match that acted as Kurt Angle's last as the pair put forth a pedestrian effort to bid formal farewell to the Olympic Gold Medallist.

Angle went out flat on his back in every sense of the word after much of the usual from the future King Of The Ring in a match designed mostly for Corbin to talk about it in the months that followed rather than being enjoyable in the moment.

Hindsight and all that, but Angle should have called it a year earlier. He was the weakest component in the Ronda Rousey blockbuster, but his illustrious past and star aura more than made up for his shortcomings on the night. That was a way to go out. A knackered crowd made peace before Kurt had even taken his final look at the lights.
