This was such a good match and, yet again, another example of how effective simple booking can be if you actually just stick with it.

As I said last week, if Carter's to be enhancement talent, then she needed something substantial to do while she's getting beat. If Catanzarro's to have a future in NXT, then she needs to get additional TV time with some more established stars. If González is to be received as a monster, then she needs to demonstrate physical dominance in eye-catching spots. If Kai's the long-term beneficiary of this story, she needs to win, and win well. Yet again, all four of those boxes were ticked.

As team Carter and Catanzarro looked incredibly well-oiled in the opening exchanges, hitting some genuinely inventive combination work that made great use of the size difference between themselves and Gonzales. Kai, smartly, kept her involvement to a minimum before tagging in for the submission after a wonderfully athletic spot between her partner and Catanzarro.

Win or lose, everyone in this feud is benefitting from it at the moment, and it's not often we can say that.
