The second of New Japan's annual tournaments, BOSJ is set up in the style of the G1 Climax. Each wrestler strives for points in the hopes of winning their block (of which there are two), going on to the final and hopefully, earning a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming Dominion megashow.

KUSHIDA, who many view as the 'Junior Ace,' walked away with his second BOSJ tournament victory, setting up the next stage in his feud with Los Ingobernables de Japon's Hiromu Takahashi. The tournament was stacked with some of the best wrestling talent in the world, each of whom went out with the intention of stealing the show for two full weeks. Wrestlers like KUSHIDA, Will Ospreay, Ricochet and Takahashi had gruelling matches night after night in the hopes of being crowned Best of the Super Juniors.

The tournament featured some impressive debuts, surprise upsets, and most importantly, heaps of exciting wrestling. The bar for the 2017 G1 Climax has certainly been set high.
