4. Chase U Drama Drags On
NXT loves its little dramatic storylines. Some of them hit, and some sometimes miss the mark.
The Chase U/Schism storyline is a baffling one of corruption and rambling promos from one side, and a fake university from the other. It can only exist in the NXT universe. And yet, it still manages to work most weeks.
But this week’s offering didn’t work all that well. After Andre Chase lost to Joe Gacy (thanks to Thea Hail inadvertently distracting her professor) in a lackluster match, Duke Hudson blew up at everyone, calling Chase U pathetic and a joke before storming off.
It wasn’t terrible by any stretch, but it feels like the story direction shifts every so slightly week to week. Plus, the Schism is just painful in general, so this gets a “down.”
