5. Bayley, Banks Hug It Out
Let’s acknowledge the positive right away: WWE didn’t stupidly have the storyline pick up right where it left off last week.
Sasha Banks and Bayley said they had a really long talk to hash out their differences, and they realized they had more in common than in contention. They then went out and demolished two jobbers, showing they were on the same page.
At the same time, the ambiguity of where things are (Are they good friends? Interested in each other?) just serves to prolong things while the announcers danced around the obvious question: Are they a couple? Bayley and Banks hugged it out in the ring after their victory, which also left a question open.
It’s hard to give this an “up” after weeks (and really, months) of stupidity with this storyline, and there’s a strong doubt that WWE can handle a grown-up same-sex storyline with maturity. But hey, WWE can always prove us wrong.
