6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 24)
2. Nothing Better To Do
In a perfect world, the Authors of Pain tangling with another tag team on Raw would be an easy “up” because they’re on TV showcasing their talents.
But remembering the no-nonsense approach of AOP under the tutelage of Paul Ellering in NXT, this felt like a big step down. Akam and Rezar came down to ringside and grabbed the mics (the first big difference) and demanded competition – anyone but Titus Worldwide, because they have already beaten them.
So naturally, Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews came down to the ring. The long-suffering jobbers tried to lecture AOP about how they needed to show respect and learn from their elders, such as Titus(!). The Authors verbally sparred briefly before Titus and Apollo attacked and ran them off.
Bear in mind that AOP has defeated Titus Worldwide twice on Raw already, and Titus and Apollo haven’t won a tag match on Raw since February. But hey, let’s have them get the upper hand on the former NXT Tag Team Champions, who instead of being silent killers, are now cracking jokes at Titus.
Yeah, what great decision-making! Give someone a raise!
