6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 30)
When in doubt, bring back a McMahon to liven things up. Clearly that's a winner.
WWE just doesn’t seem to get it, do they?
Things feel a bit sluggish, so the company had a couple choices: Move in a different direction and try something new, or turn back the clock to 2014 and push Stephanie McMahon as a top heel authority figure and Kane as a top villain. Guess which direction we got.
We saw Tex Ferguson portrayed as if he was a real guy and not a character created by a guy playing a different guy. More importantly, we saw Stephanie McMahon return to Raw to complain and then race off into the night. And of course, she didn’t leave without taking a few parting shots at people like Raw GM Kurt Angle.
We saw a couple questionable title shots for challengers. We saw WWE make constant references to the Simpsons, only to mess it up. And we saw Kane’s latest push as he flattens the entire roster.
We also saw two Samoans return to action, Angle lose his cool, and Miz’s freaking out proving to be clairvoyant this time.
Overall, Raw was entertaining enough, and the issues weren’t catastrophic. But a Halloween street fight, the return on Stephanie McMahon and making Kane your top bad guy in 2017 are pretty major strikes against you.
