You’ve got to admire Vince McMahon’s persistence.
Or is it, you’ve got to wonder if Vince McMahon is so stubborn that he just doesn’t give a damn what the fans think anymore, he’s going to tell us who our next superhero is, dammit!
Even though Roman Reigns didn’t make an appearance on Raw Monday, he was a significant part of the show, with a heavily edited, history-redefining video package of his past month, as well as a recap of his feud with Braun Strowman. The message from the McMahon patriarch was clear: Roman is cheered and beloved by all.
At least parents can explain to their kids what a propaganda film looks like.
Besides that, we saw Braun continue his path of destruction while channeling the New Age Outlaws. We saw Bray Wyatt finally do something more than talk – and it still left you scratching your head. We saw the Bullet Club reunite in the ring… albeit on different sides of a match. And we saw Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose bury the hatchet during a stroll down Memory Lane.
Raw was watchable, but it clearly felt like Payback is just an opportunity to have a bunch of matches given that this was the go-home show.
