6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 28)
Raw fumbles a couple stories but delivers in other areas.
You know things are wearing down for a PPV build when the participants in a multi-man match are thrust into different combinations on Monday, and then another arrangement of the wrestlers is set for the following week.
Still, Monday Night Raw wasn’t all bad. Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and Elias all were bright spots, with Elias doing yeoman’s work to rile the fans throughout multiple segments. Kevin Owens was his usual awesome self on the mic, while Balor stood up to Braun. And Bobby Lashley finally decided to get on the mic and just issue a challenge, which he should have done two weeks ago to spare us all the silly “sisters” act.
But Raw also featured and Olympic athlete getting manhandled, the tag champs stagnating, a babyface acting like a goof, and the participants in the Women’s Championship match having an abysmal confrontation.
Raw wasn’t unwatchable, but it certainly had painful moments. The main event, a gauntlet match for the last spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, dragged the show down tremendously.
It's also worth noting that there was no Roman Reigns on Raw, but we won't lump that in with an up or a down, for fear of upsetting someone a little too much. Besides, he'll probably be back telling us Jinder Mahal is in his yard next week.
