Sometimes, all you need for a feud is a simple case of a young lion looking to usurp the longstanding Alpha Male.

In this case, Drew McIntyre got in Randy Orton’s face Monday night, calling the 13-time world champion out and telling him that he was the past, no longer the most ferocious wrestler on the roster. McIntyre spoke of Orton’s disrespect for the rules and for knowing his place and role at this stage in his career, which are actual real things you can be pissed about.

Nothing was paid off Monday night, so maybe this will be a slow burn to something like Royal Rumble rather than rushed to a head at TLC. If they manage to do this right, it could be a decent little feud that maybe – just maybe – inspires Orton to give a damn.
