2. Barely Restraining Ourselves

In the nonsensical world of WWE, a restraining order apparently can be taken out at liberty for no good reason. And it can be violated with minimal consequences – or none at all.

Such is the never-ending story of Rusev and Lana (and Bobby Lashley). Lana has now taken out a restraining order at least three times on camera (including Starrcade Sunday night), and each time, Rusev has violated it to attack Lashley.

Last week, Rusev was arrested and still assaulted The All Mighty while handcuffed. He was obviously released, because he attacked Lashley Sunday night at Starrcade, and then he escaped into the crowd, apparently evading law enforcement.

And then he showed up again Monday night to attack Lashley once again, this time with police ringside and doing nothing to arrest Rusev for coming within 10 feet of Lana.

Look, we get that this is a TV show, and a wrestling one – not a cop procedural. But even the most casual viewer has to be scratching their heads about the inconsistency and lack of enforcement of laws. If you’re going to write this stuff into a storyline, then use it at least semi-properly. You can almost picture the writers in a room saying, “Oh yeah, let’s use a restraining order again! That’ll go over great! And then Rusev will violate it again! It’ll slay!”

People want to cheer Rusev and see him thrash Lashley. They don’t need stupid fluff that’s inconsistent and applied incorrectly added on.
