Finally, an announcer who gets it. After weeks of being put down, mocked and marginalized, it took Booker T to be the voice of reason Monday night. As JBL continued his weekly rant against the Ascension and the teams claim of being better than many legendary duos, it was the 14-time tag team champion who stepped in and stepped up. Booker defended Konnor and Viktors braggadocio by noting that if you dont believe in yourself, no one will. He also recounted how he and brother Stevie Ray as Harlem Heat called out teams like the Rock n Roll Express and the Midnight Express way before the Heat was ready for the big time. That kind of dose of reality from a former wrestler is what had been missing from the Ascensions presentation. Are they overreaching as JBL says? Yes. But having Booker point out that extreme confidence isnt entirely bad was necessary to balance things out (rather than just having Jerry Lawler agree with Bradshaw).
