3. Booker Reps The Ascension

Finally, an announcer who gets it. After weeks of being put down, mocked and marginalized, it took Booker T to be the voice of reason Monday night. As JBL continued his weekly rant against the Ascension and the team€™s claim of being better than many legendary duos, it was the 14-time tag team champion who stepped in and stepped up. Booker defended Konnor and Viktor€™s braggadocio by noting that if you don€™t believe in yourself, no one will. He also recounted how he and brother Stevie Ray as Harlem Heat called out teams like the Rock €˜n€™ Roll Express and the Midnight Express way before the Heat was ready for the big time. That kind of dose of reality from a former wrestler is what had been missing from the Ascension€™s presentation. Are they overreaching as JBL says? Yes. But having Booker point out that extreme confidence isn€™t entirely bad was necessary to balance things out (rather than just having Jerry Lawler agree with Bradshaw).
