6 Ways WWE Can Book Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 is just three weeks away, and while the participants for the traditional men's ladder match have already been announced, rumours of a women's bout persist. Five of SmackDown's finest will compete for the right to challenge Women's Champion Naomi at the PPV, and if the speculation is accurate, the losers will have the chance to snatch the briefcase.
It'll be the first time the women have competed in such an environment, and SmackDown find themselves a little short-handed. The title match completely removes two wrestlers from the equation, leaving the brand with just four active competitors for a match that traditional includes upwards of six. This means they'll likely have to dip into NXT or bring somebody over from Raw to complete the lineup, adding another layer of unpredictability.
Whatever happens, the match promises plenty of excitement, and there is no shortage of potential winners and big surprises. If it goes ahead, MITB could be the shot of adrenaline the division desperately needs after months of directionless cluster booking, particularly if WWE follow some of the advice given here...
6. Make It Iconic
If WWE do find themselves in need of fresh faces to fill the ladder match, they’ll likely dip into the NXT talent pool. Fortunately, NXT’s women’s division isn’t short of options, and while the likes of Ember Moon and Nikki Cross are too preoccupied with their developmental title hunt to step up, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are ready to go.
The self-proclaimed ‘Iconic Duo’ have been out of the championship picture for months, and aren't likely to battle their way back to contention. The scene is just too crowded at the moment, and with the Mae Young Classic looming, competition is only getting stiffer. Thus, it might be time to move on, and their numerical advantage would bring an interesting new dynamic, with the duo working together to isolate their opponents and take them out individually.
Promoting them ahead of Asuka & co. creates its own problems, however, and suggests that either the NXT Title isn't worth chasing if it can be skipped entirely, or that the other women have better things to worry about than winning a shot at main roster gold. This makes Royce & Kay unlikely, but WWE have called-up lesser NXT wrestlers ahead of champions before, and anything's possible in a world where Jinder Mahal is WWE Champion.
