7 Indie Wrestlers That Need To Be On Tough Enough

7. Mike Hayes

Mike Hayes has a background that makes him babyface for life. He joined the Army out of high school but would later fall victim to an IED attack while serving in Iraq. He was the only survivor. One of his legs was amputated and he endured 18 months of physical therapy before returning home.

Not only did Hayes learn how to live with his difficult circumstance, he thrived. He amazed doctors as he resumed an athletic lifestyle that carried him all the way to the storied wrestling rings of Louisville, Kentucky.

Nick Dinsmore trained Mike, who debuted in OVW in 2011. Mike has become a champion in that promotion, holding the Southern Tag Team Titles, Television Title, and has even recently challenged several times for the OVW Heavyweight Title.

WWE does seem to have caught notice of Mike because clips of his video submission have aired on a recent episode of Smackdown. Will they give him a chance and bring him on the show?
