3. NXT Tag Team Championship - The Authors Of Pain Vs. #DIY
NXT's tag team division is in a difficult position right now. With The Revival gone and TM-61 on the injured list, only The Authors of Pain, #DIY, and Heavy Machinery remain. An argument could be made for throwing Heavy Machinery into a title shot at the mid-year TakeOver, but one last shot for #DIY makes more sense.
Working with Gargano and Ciampa is so clearly beneficial for Akam and Rezar that it would be foolish to stop that just yet. A bout between the Authors and Heavy Machinery also has the potential to be awful, something that might dent the confidence of all four men at this early stage.
#DIY deserve another straight shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships, and that shot should come at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. A stipulation could be added to the match (ladders, tables, No DQ, Paul Ellering on a pole, whatever) to ramp up the excitement. This should also be the moment that Gargano and Ciampa finally come to blows, ahead of what should be a hot summer feud in NXT.
