Now we€™re getting into heavyweight Hollywood territory with Wyatt taking a cue from one of Tinseltown€™s most notorious creations. Marlon Brando delivered on a major level when he transformed into the demented Colonel Kurtz so it would be challenging, to say the least, to see Wyatt shave his head and don the black pyjamas. Of course, there€™s no doubt that playing a philosophically minded extremist cult leader is within Wyatt€™s wheelhouse, but how different would his Kurtz gimmick be to his current one? As with every narrative, context is compulsory. Let€™s think of Wyatt€™s downfall and subsequent hiatus as a parallel to Kurtz going AWOL in €˜Nam. Who could play Willard to Wyatt€™s Kurtz? Cena? Too obvious. Ambrose? Possibly but we€™ve seen that feud already. How about Erick Rowan? He€™s the disciple that spurned Wyatt€™s teachings when he became a face, so how about giving Rowan the goal of turning Wyatt to the side of the light? But when Rowan comes across his old mentor, he discovers a man who has found the abyss and has stared too long into the heart of darkness. The horror... the horror...
