Sting was booked the same way for the majority of his career. He was the guy that pandered to the little kids that he liked to call the "Little Stingers" and he would fight against the bad guys. Whether that was Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Vader, Cactus Jack, Rick Rude or his buddy Lex Luger, he would always do his best to keep on fighting. The Luger name is interesting in his history as well because they were legitimately best friends. They owned a gym together. They traveled together a lot. They were also portrayed that way on television. However, Luger was the one that turned on Sting so many times. That's why Sting was so likable. Even though he knew he couldn't trust Luger, he would always give him other chances. He would always see the good in people, even somebody untrustworthy like Luger, and he would believe in them, but then they would turn his back on him. That actually made him look dumb sometimes, but he was good enough to overcome it. Sting always had the sympathy of the fans. The Sting character was the same for about ten years. It was very predictable, but for wrestling fans that's what we want.
