TNA Wrestling has long considered itself an alternative to the established WWE product. However, the future of TNA as a functioning company is in serious doubt. The promotion has found themselves in the news more often than every as of late, due to their perilous position. As is well known, TNAs flagship Impact program is in danger of being without a home by next year. News broke some time ago that Spike TV was uninterested in pursuing a further relationship with the Nashville, Tennessee-based company. As such, TNA and its President, Dixie Carter, have been scrambling to find a new home for Impact. Shortly after the devastating news, a new deal was announced between Spike and TNA -- however, the deal is short term and temporary. TNAs current deal with Spike will see them remain on the air through the end of 2014. However, the company has yet to line up a new network for 2015. Reports have indicated that there are some interested networks out there, but nothing has been signed yet. Furthermore, it now seems that TNA will not be airing Impact through the end of this year. Instead, due to financial cutbacks -- including the cancellation of some television tapings -- TNA will air a highlight and clip show on Spike for the last month or so of their deal. TNA will likely find a new home for Impact, but the question remains: will the deal be as lucrative as their previous contract with Spike? Reportedly, most of the interested networks are smaller than Spike TV with less of a national reach. Furthermore, these small television outlets are seemingly offering less money and provisions to TNA Wrestling. If the company fails to land a lucrative and beneficial deal, they may end up in a worse situation than the one they are in now.
