7 Things WWE Fans Wanted (Until They Got Them)
7. Shane McMahon Back In WWE
Shane McMahon left WWE on 1 January 2010. As the years went on, he became a fondly remembered character. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
When Shane finally returned to WWE after over six years away, the pop was enormous. Fans were elated and genuinely surprised, so even the lackluster "McMahon Lockbox" storyline didn't manage to dampen their enthusiasm.
How things have changed since then. While he has continuously entertained the crowds with his familiar falling-off-of-high-places routine and painful to the eyes shadowboxing, in recent months he also managed to gather a fair amount of go-away heat.
Shane McMahon is the Best in the World. Even though he wasn't even originally included in the tournament. The gimmick admittedly had some potential, but writing it in a non-exhausting way was seemingly way above WWE creative's paygrade.
Since that night in Saudi Arabia, he slowly started taking over both of the main roster brands. There was no escape from him as he was feuding with many different people at the same time while also collecting sidekicks like trading cards.
What seemed like a dream couple of years ago eventually turned into a true nightmare for the fans.
