3. Jeff Jarrett

Another horrendous "Vince McMahon producing your commentary" story, this time from a guy who was about to have a very different tale about his relationship with the boss, as Jeff Jarrett spends one of his last days with WWE in 1999 on the wrong end of a McMahononist screaming fit. 

Discussing the build to SummerSlam 1999 on one of his absorbing "My World" podcast episodes, then-Intercontinental Champion Jarrett was stationed on commentary to try and further his agenda against D'Lo Brown and/or all women, when he was subjected to a brutal attack through the headphones. As Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler had to sit and pretend as though nothing was out of the ordinary, 'Double J' was being told how he was anything but great at the role. 

As he put it; "One time he was screaming in my ear so loud I could not hear myself think, and I literally froze and didn't say anything...I could hear him say, 'Are you just going to sit there and say nothing?"

Having spent a life in the industry, this wasn't a particularly big deal, and nor would it weigh too heavy on his mind when it came to making his next big career move. Within six weeks, he was collecting his outstanding house show and pay-per-view payoffs and heading for new frontiers in WCW.
