7 Times Wrestlers Recovered From A Burial
7. Daniel Bryan (Wrestlemania XXVIII)
There are squash matches that lasted longer than this match; that alone should summarise just how detrimental this could have been to Daniel Bryan’s career.
Daniel Bryan winning the World Heavyweight Championship in 2012 was a sight no hardcore wrestling fan thought he would ever see. To see “the small indie guy” finally make his way to the top of the mountain in the Land of the Giants was incredible, and Bryan’s cash-in will live on in the minds of most fans.
Unfortunately, his subsequent title loss is remembered far more clearly. Sheamus shocked the world when he beat Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXVIII. In the subsequent months, it looked like Bryan’s career was heading for a dead end. However, he remembered to do what he does best: Wrestle.
Winning over the crowd with his untouchable in-ring prowess, Bryan soon clawed his way back to the top of the card, eventually earned a title shot against John Cena at SummerSlam 2013, proving all his doubters wrong.
