7 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (3 May - Review)
Ups…
7. Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy & Bandido Vs The JAS
Given traditionally one of the hottest spots on the show, an eight-man tag that looked more wacky than good in the build turned out to be the perfect use of every babyface and an expert way to advance the bubbling dissension between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho.
With multiple showcase moments for Orange Cassidy, Bandido and the returning Roderick Strong, the battle itself existed for their benefit more than Cole’s, but his crucial involvement put over his drive and desire.
After scoring the decisive blow and pinfall win, Cole raced up the ramp to get at the JAS leader in an important reminder of the company All Elite Wrestling is supposed to be. All the walls of Jericho had fallen, between the members of his group blocking the path earlier, and the invisible one AEW have relied too much on lately. He wasn’t ready, he got a little bit of what was coming to him, and then ate more sh*t courtesy of a Dr Britt Baker DMD slap he sold huge for. Fans in the building popped massively for both faces getting their pounds of flesh too, which bodes well for whatever remains between now and the pay-per-view.
