4. Tres de Mayo Trios Battle Royale
Bolstered by an intriguing change to the rules of Trios matches (as long as the House Of Black have the belts, it's no rope breaks and 20-counts outside), the Tres de Mayo Trios Battle Royale was another AEW multi-man that offered some nice intra-match action while also informing a bigger picture just in time for Double Or Nothing.
Eventual victors The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn secured their spot on the pay-per-view (or became next in line for the champions at another to-be-determined date), El Hijo Del Vikingo and The Lucha Brothers's battles with Powerhouse Hobbs, QT Marshall and Aaron Solo immediately led to a Rampage trios bout between the two sides, and The Butcher & The Blade's always-the-bridesmaids-never-the-brides Battle Royale lore continued with the contest's thrilling conclusion.
Going under 10 minutes, the whole thing carried that same frenetic energy associated with typical title defences, and shone some much-needed spotlight on a division that had gone begging over the last few weeks.
