7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 8)
1. Tables, Ladders & Cage
AEW is still the best wrestling promotion on the planet, even if sometimes that notion disguises itself amongst overwrought and overthought concepts and ideas.
Christian Cage and Jungle Boy's exchanges in this were a riot, with Cage's negging of Jack Perry starting to reach a critical point ahead of whatever splinter occurs in the group. Cage yet again booking his charges in an incredibly difficult encounter was a nice detail too - he's had a habit of this and at some point it's likely he'll blame them if and when it all goes wrong.
Jurassic Express defending their Tag Team Championships against The Hardy Boyz and The Young Bucks in a ladder match next week gets a massive, massive down for being the fourth one this year, not counting other brawls that have included the weapon. After Cody Rhodes' Hell In A Cell main event it's probably not the week to stir up more debate about what wrestlers should and shouldn't do if they declare themselves fit, but here's hoping the elder statesmen take it a little easier in this one.
