Quake by the Lake was a hot mess in great ways and bad.
A wild, unruly maelstrom of a show, AEW's latest Dynamite special was pure chaos from start to finish. The energy was through the roof at times. Buoyed by a vocal Minneapolis crowd, Tony Khan's promotion delivered two fast-moving hours of television that lagged only for a few fleeting moments that did little to hinder the ride's incredible, boisterous buzz.
Khan's pre-show Twitter teases suggested a big angle was to go down last night. He delivered a full-on CM Punk comeback just over two months after the AEW World Champion was shelved through injury, potentially setting the All Out main event in the process.
This came following the headlining title fight between interim kingpin Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho, for which the challenger reprised his 'Lionheart' person, crawling out of the Hart Dungeon one last time. Elsewhere, Brody King and Darby Allin settled their bloody beef in a coffin match, Jade Cargill put the TBS Championship up against Madison Rayne, and Rush and Andrade El Idolo finally got their tornado tag with the Lucha Brothers.
