McIntyre/Punk hits a new gear, Terror Twins seek retribution, Gunther confronts old foe.
If there’s one thing WWE seems to excel at these days, it’s staging a very effective, wild brawl or beatdown that drives fans into a frenzy.
Monday Night Raw featured an excellent, visceral moment with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, putting their rivalry fully back on track and returning it to the white-hot blood feud it had been for the longest time. The agonizing over Punk’s fan-made bracelet came to a screeching halt, and McIntyre dropped any pretense of showing restraint.
Everything else on Monday night was a distant second, but you really can’t fault the rest of the show. That’s just how good Punk/McIntyre was.
Gunther’s next challenger revealed himself, but his path to a World Heavyweight Championship match might not be as simple as asking for a title shot. Bron Breakker had words for one of his potential opponents, bringing him back to Earth. The Terror Twins had another good night on the mic and in the ring, continuing to drive forward.
Raw’s negatives weren’t huge, but there were a few moments that didn’t exactly shine and might have left fans scratching their collective heads. Still, WWE remains a hot product, and that can’t be denied.
