A clash undeniably carried by the star power of recording giant Cyndi Lauper, new Women's Champion Wendi Richter nonetheless has the necessary 1980s glamour to suggest she too belonged amongst other crossover stars Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper at the front of Vince McMahon's canny Rock N Wrestling movement.

Far from just because it went on second from the top, Richter's victory over Leilani Kai was next in line as god was handing out main events. For all the match was makeshift, the extra-curricular activities between Lauper, her manager Dave Wolff and Kai's cornerwoman The Fabulous Moolah was inch-perfect tabloid fodder exactly as intended.

It was, tragically, the most significant Women's Title match at the 'Show Of Shows' for a full decade. WWE were wise enough to celebrate the importance of equality in 1985, but rapidly walked back from it when the mainstream attention dried up.
