Watching SummerSlam live without the aid of a skip button was a tad arduous.

It wasn't the length of the show that was problematic here. No, it was the sheer number of video packages for random superstars that aired throughout. Thankfully, WWE used downtime in between matches much better on exactly two occasions, and they're worth talking about.

Drew McIntyre cut a short promo about being number one contender, and he even took the p*ss out of the main event by making light of how many matches Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar have worked against one another. It was nothing fancy, sure, but the promo kept McIntyre in the conversation and didn't chew up much time.

The same goes for Riddle calling out Seth Rollins then getting stomped. Credit to WWE's production team for almost missing the stoner as he grabbed a microphone at ringside - seeing Corey Graves' shocked expression sold the moment better than a full entrance would have.
